These Unofficial guides are just the best for traveling. Give you a lot of inside information that you wouldn't have without reading these. Have used the Disneyland one for years. If you want to get the most out of a trip to Disneyland for you and your family read this book before you go. Disneyland isn't the kind of place you just wander around in if you are only going to be there for a day or so. You need to have a plan if you want to get the maximum pleasure and see everything you want to see. This book has model plans for you if you have little kids, pre-teens, teens or no children at all. Gives you the low down on individual attractions. Information about what there is and where to eat in the park. Also very good information about hotels. Extremely comprehensive. Attraction, restaurant, and hotel (including non-Disney hotel) descriptions, money-saving tips, ticket information, recommendations for websites and travel agents, and pretty much anything else you can think of. It's entertaining to read and includes a bonus section on Universal Studios Hollywood.The "touring guides" are another big reason to purchased this book. In essence, these are step-by-step instructions on the order to visit rides and attractions. Disney is notorious for horrible lines; the plans are meant to cut waiting as much as possible. I cannot personally attest to their effectiveness yet. However, considering the time and research spent on them, and the personal testimonies from readers in the book, I have high hopes.Unlike some other guides, the book is not full with colored photos. It is essentially all text; the main objective here is information. There is quite a bit of reader feedback included in the text, even readers criticizing the book or opposing the authors' opinions. This in and of itself speaks a lot for this guide. To give an idea of how thorough this book is, there are entire guidebooks on Disney World that feel, at best, the same size as this Disneyland guide.I highly recommend this book if you are planning a trip to Disneyland. It is very comprehensive, with concrete blueprints (touring plans) to get as much out of your day(s) as possible. I would still recommend doing some additional research on your own so your trip best fits you. However, this is a fantastic resource; 5 stars!
